Mohammed-Mohmood Tunde Hassan, PhD, has had expansive cognate practice exposure and experience in allied communications across media streams at editorial and management levels within and outside Nigeria. With a multi-disciplinary scholarly background including Doctorate in Peace Studies (Conflict sensitive Journalism & Diversity Management), a Master’s in Business Administration, a stint in Political Science at the University of Jos, Post-graduate study in Management (ATBU, Bauchi) in addition to a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism, Mohmood Tunde also undertaken a work-study program under the IVP of US States Department, a fellowship in International Broadcast Management, Hilversum, Nederland, Intellectual Journalism, Duetche Welle Institute, Berlin, Germany and Strategic Communications/Development Journalism, World Bank Institute, New York.
As an Allied Communications Practitioner, his core engagements in analytical/critical Journalism and development media and Strategic Communication, have entailed investigating, interrogating, reporting on and writing several editorial and special features and documentaries on wide ranging issues within the public space over the years. He holds a Merit Award in Editorial Writing and has taken up responsibilities in conflict sensitive reporting and crises communications management under the auspices of the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP and the African Council on Communication Education ACCE in addition to Strategic Communications for Defense and Security of the Defense headquarters, Abuja. Other previous engagements were as Director/Management member at Nigeria’s Film Regulatory Board and Head, International Desk of the Africa Independent Television, where he had operations in the US Bureau with assignments India, China, France, Germany, Sri-Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UK, the Nederland, the Caribbean, among others. He has been a resource person for Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism in conjunction with the Macarthur Foundation and AD4TVradio as well as Course Developer, Digital Skills for Journalists at the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.
Currently, Mohmood Tunde Hassan is Lead Consultant, Vintage & Dynamics Consult, involved in Broadcast Stations Reforms/Start-ups, Human Resource capacity-building, Strategy & Scenario Analysis Planning and Leveraging. He is a certified Peace Practitioner, Fellow of the Institute for Crises Resolution, Peace Building and Conciliation, and member of various professional bodies including Nigeria Institute of Management, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Guild of Editors, Nigeria Union of Journalists and Association of Advertising Practitioners of Nigeria.
